Welcome to the New Home of British Basketball

This is the newest and therefore freshest blog on British Basketball - something overlooked by many and appreciated by a few.

Basketball is now booming in the United Kingdom with it being the second most popular sport for 11-15 year olds in Britain.

The sport managed to overturn a ruling on funding for the Olympics following a letter from Chicago Bulls player and All-Star reserve Luol Deng to the PM David Cameron.

Deng is the Team GB International - who is the star man in the current crop of British players; for those who don't know.

This is basically to welcome all and sundry to the blog and get people backing British Basketball.

Chelsea and Man United stars clash in 2k18 showdown

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois proved he was a safe pair of hands once again, as he beat Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Crystal Palace, on loan from Manchester United), in the second semi-final of the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament!
The Chelsea keeper, playing as the Boston Celtics, beat Fosu-Mensah's San Antonio Spurs 39-23.
It means he faces Arsenal defender Rob Holding in the final.
Courtois discussed his passion for the NBA after the game: “I don’t really have a team. I know a few players at the Lakers and at the Knicks, so I like to follow the players I really know well. I’m very excited to see Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in London for the NBA London Game 2018 for example, I think it will be a great game and hopefully they will win as well.”
Fosu-Mensah then concluded by sharing his excitement for the NBA London Game 2018, “I’ve always wanted to see an NBA game and the London Game is going to be my first one ever, so I’m really excited to go. It’s going to be a grea…

Chelsea 'keeper Courtois downs Rob Holding on 2k18

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was too hot to handle as he won the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament Final.
Courtois had beaten Crystal Palace stars Mamadou Sakho and Timothy Fosu-Mensah on the way to the final where he faced off with Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
Holding himself had seen off Arsenal teammate Nacho Monreal and England rugby star Owen Farrell to reach the final.
The Chelsea goalkeeper elected to play as the Golden State Warriors, with the Arsenal defender selecting the Cleveland Cavaliers, in a rematch of the last three years of NBA Finals. As in the previous rounds, NBA legend Gary Payton oversaw the contest.
After an incredibly hard-fought match, it was Courtois who was crowned the Champion of the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament, as his Golden State Warriors team sealed a 39-22 victory over Rob Holding’s Cavaliers, with the Belgian awarded a special NBA2K18 Championship ring to commemorate his victory.
Following his win, Courtois compared the atmosph…

Worcester Wolves head coach Paul James has praised former GB captain Drew Sullivan following his retirement from the game.

Sullivan - who made over 100 appearances for his country - announced his decision earlier this year.

He led a team to victory one more time yesterday with London beating the World 89-84 in his testimonial.

Paul James coach of the Worcester Wolves, has come up against Sullivan as a coach a number of times over the years and says he has a lasting legacy on the British game.

James said: "I think he has been phenomenal for the British game, the ultimate professional. I haven't really had the pleasure to work with Drew, but to see the way he handled himself on and off the court, you could see he was very serious about his basketball and his success has happened because of that.

"He's won many championships and for sure he has been a real leader on and off the court, for anybody that has worked with him.

"It's sad to see such a talent like th…
