Sturt: The Future is Bright for Lions

London Lions Centre and former GB U-23 International Adrien Sturt thinks that the future of British Basketball and the London Lions is bright ahead of their move to the Copper Box next season.

Sturt is currently in the BBL's team of the week after an impressive display against Manchester Giants last Sunday.

He believes that the move will allow the club to expand and take some of the Olympic spirit

He said: "The move to the Copper Box will be great as it will give us an opportunity to use the legacy of the Olympics to build on the team."

"If you look at the top teams in Europe they all play in top stadiums and hopefully we can start to be a part of that."

"I am looking forward to next season and playing in this world class arena."

Speaking about his own performances, Sturt credited his team mates for his good form.

He added: "Anything I do can be attributed to my team mates, it is a team game, we win together and we lose together."

"I think we can finish in 6th or 7th in the BBL and hopefully put a good run together."

Hardaway Jr ready for London debut

It was a disappointing start to the 2014/15 season for the New York Knicks as they suffered a 104-80 defeat to the Chicago Bulls. The Knicks will be playing at The O2 Arena in London in January as part of the 2015 NBA Global Games. Tim Hardaway Jr has never been to London and is looking forward to the challenge as the Knicks take on the Milwaukee Bucks. He said: " When I was a kid, London Bridge is falling down, that's all I used to hear about London. I know that there are some great tourist attractions you see them all in the movies all the time. Wolves' Director hopeful of final place

Worcester Wolves’ Managing Director Mick Donovan hopes the team can reward fans’ loyalty with a Final day out as he looks ahead to this week’s BBL Cup clash. The University of Worcester-owned side prepares to face Sheffield Sharks for a place in the final in Birmingham.
