GB and BBL legend Drew Sullivan retires

GB basketball legend and former captain Drew Sullivan has retired from the sport of basketball.
The two time MVP and the Great Britain Olympic Captain has announced his retirement from basketball as one of the most successful player in BBL history. 
Sullivan played in over 300 BBL games in his 12 seasons of play in the BBL as well as time in Europe throughout his career.
He said: “I have been playing basketball for over two decades,
“I have had an amazing time representing my county, some amazing clubs and playing here [Leicester] for the five seasons but today I am announcing my retirement.
“It is bitter sweet as I enjoy playing here for this club so much but it has to happen at some stage and the time is right and I look forward to starting the next chapter of my life. 
“There have been some amazing moments, representing Great Britain at the Olympics and play in London a stone’s throw from where I grew up with family and friends able to watch me play.
“Winning the first league title here in Leicester, I remember looking to Russell and telling him I told you we would bring a league Championship here and seeing Kevin celebrate – those are the kind moments I am going to take away.”
Sullivan also found success with Newcastle, taking all four titles and Mersey Tigers winning multiple pieces of silverware. 
He posted a video on YouTube as the star seemingly moves towards a career in Jiu Jitsu:

The BBL will host a testimonial game to celebrate the career of Sullivan at Leicester Arena on July 22nd at 6.30pm.

Surrey United - previously Surrey Heat - have gone through multiple changes this summer, including a change of owner, name, coach and various players. Kendal Johnson wants to ball in the BBL

Kendal Johnson is an American who wants to play in England in a busy week where he is likely to find out where he will be playing and when. Johnson is the cousin of NBA star Marcus Camby and is looking to be a player/coach in the British Basketball League or English Basketball League. He admits he doesn't know too much about the current state of British basketball but has heard good things. He said: 'I've always wanted to go to England but I don't know a lot about the basketball league, I have a friend at the Worcester Wolves and he has told me there is lot's of positives.'
